Thea Mika was founded in 2018 by Katja and Michael Gerlach. But the story begins much earlier with a remarkable woman named Thea, Michael’s grandmother, who ran up to five shoe stores for over 40 years and left a lasting mark on generations of customers. Inspired by her example, Michael became a shoe designer and later established his own sales agency (for shoes, of course). When he and his wife Katja launched Thea Mika, it was – and still is – a tribute to Thea and to strong, independent women everywhere.
That’s how the brand builds on a long family tradition in the shoe business, combining proven expertise and know-how with a deep understanding of current trends, market demands and customer needs.

Short supply chains and production in Europe enable our ‘Thea Mika’ team in Düsseldorf to regularly oversee the work of the production teams in Tuscany.
